i cant decide between these two. i guess these 2 are great machines, but still......

I have a bit of experience with both.......I feel either way you cant go wrong..they both are great.what kind of music are you making...are you gonna use it for live,or studio recording?...either way its a tough choice..do you like to program sound? if so maybe even a kurzweil k2600 may be in the running as well

if you're going with the Fantom X6,I would suggest picking up a Juno G first because sooner than later,an improved Fantom will hit the market and you might be able to sell the Juno easier than you would a Fantom.Besides with the Juno, you only lay out a thousand or so..

Yep, I bought a Fantom-S in march of 2003 or 2004... if I remember correctly the Fantom-X was released like a month or two afterwards. Talk about depreciation.

Like 50cal said, with those choices you really can't go wrong. I like the pads on the Fantoms but they can't compare to those of a MPC. The pads are what made me go with the Fantom-S over the Triton when I was shopping around.

I'd want both but I'm crazy that way...

I think I'd buy pick the Motif first then pick up a rack version of the Roland but thats just me.

I just might follow my own advice, because there are a couple of badly needed improvements that the Fantom could stand.

i sell keyboards and recording gear...

if you are going to get one then get the fantom x... do not get the motif...
