Can anybody tell me a few things about the Roland DM-80 digital 8-track recorder? Is it a stand alone unit or does it need to be hooked to a computer? Is it portable? Is it worth the $700 price tag? Any other info you could give me would be appreciated. Thanks!
I'm new to the digital end of recording; in fact, I'm thinking of finally making the jump from analogue 4-track. Would I be better off with something like the Yamaha MD4s mini-disc 4-track or leaping straight to the Roland? Advice?
