How does it sound, good tweakibility? Samples would be most appreciated, thank you everyone!!!

I have the Cube 30 and like it a lot. It may be small but it's LOUD
and sounds pretty good tp my ears. Tweakability is limited but the presets offer enough variation to get a decent tone. The only complaint I have with it is you can't dial in the reverb and delay separately. You basically get one or the other. Just my $0.02 worth.

I tried one a couple of months ago in a shop (a Cube 30) and was very impressed. I want one badly -- I have this wonderful-sounding Deluxe Reverb, but it's too precious to lug around, and my Carvin combo has two twelves and it's a pain to lug around. Something a bit smaller that sounded good would great for me.

Out of curiousity, Chuck, what Carvin do you have? I am in the same boat. I have an SX-200.

Funny you should mention it, BurnBarfield, but that's the same Carvin I have.

I have both a Roland Cube 15 and a Roland Cube 30. They are awesome amps for their size and price. They have closed back cabs with a porthole in the front so they have nice bottom end for such a small amp. My suggestion, if you can, go and try one out. I had the 15 first and really like it. It is pretty loud for a 15 watter but I needed something with a little more power to play with the band. Plus the extras that the 30 has seemed pretty cool as well. I ordered the 30 direct from Musicians Friend without ever playing one, I had that much faith in in based on the 15. I was not disappointed, and I guarantee that you wont be either. The ONE drawback I find is that it doesnt have a line out, only a headphone out that cuts off the speaker.

I've got a 15 Cube (I like smaller watt amps in the studio) and for the money it is a very decent little amp. I think the clean sound is very usable - the distoted sounds are OK, but I got it mainly for the clean sound (can always run stomp boxes in front of the amp).

I have heard almost nothing but good comments on the 30 Cube.

You gotta admit, for an amp with an 8 inch speaker those distortions sound way big!!!

Yeah, all that!... I agree with what everyone said.

I have a Bass Cube 40 from the mid-80's, and it's a damn nice amp.

-40 watts & a 10" speaker,
-two inputs: Norm/HI,
-Sweepable MID-Eq + 2-Fixed EQ.
-PRE-OUT,
-MAIN-IN,
-HEADPHONE,
-8ohm Ext SPEAKER OUT,
-Compact & light,
-mid/light blue exterior.

Agreed. Although I'm not the first to say, it was my first thought, that this amp sounds damned good for such a small amp. For a small bass amp, especially, the low-end is there. I like the tone of this amp. I've got it all "dialed in".

Plus, added info, is that I usually LINE-OUT of my little Roland Spirit 10A guitar amp, into the Roland Bass Cube 40, for a bi-amped, two speaker guitar "mini-tower". Crank? It does!

It strikes me occasionally, that I should get a BIGGER ROLAND CUBE AMP,... say,... 100W maybe? Hmmmmmm!

I've also got a Cube 30, and I love it. I originally bought it as a practice amp, but I found very quickly that I was able to dial in my Fender sound and Marshall sound, AND, it's way lighter to haul around than my '64 Tremolux or my JCM 900 2500 half stack. It's really loud too (if you need the volume), and have used it at several gigs. With all the other amp models (I really love the Vox AC 30 model and the Roland JC 120 model) and effects, I think it's the best $230 I've spent in a loooooong time. :)
