A music associate of mine has a Roland 2480, and has a buttload of info to backup. The problem is that the CD burner is "broken." He wants to backup all of the info before sending it in to Roland to be fixed. I have offered to help him try to back up the data (60+ songs), or find out how to back it up. He says it has a scsi port, but i dumped all of my scsi hardware years ago, and backing up 60 or so songs analog will take forever.
What are his options? Does he just need to find someone with scsi capabilities? Does anybody offer a service like this?
He's worried about sending it into Roland without backing up first. I have already told him he should have been backing up his projects before this happened, but we all know how that goes...sometimes it takes something like this to really hit home about backing up stuff.
Any info is appreciated! Thanks.
P.S. Can you just slap in any old CD burner or does it have to be a "Roland CD burner", and does Roland have to install it? Thanks again in advance.
