Rode NTK Appreciation Thread

I just love the sound of my Rode NTK, clean, clear, it's own sound. Totally stock although I've seen posts where people swap tubes. Here's a thread for those of you who'd like to share their admiration of NTK....

Mine cost about $750 Canadian a few years ago with the hardshell case. Nowaday with the exchange, it probably goes for half that new.....

Yep, nice mic. I keep forgetting to try a tube upgrade. It would be easier to remember if it didn't sound so good already. If anyone has the latest 411 on the best tube for the NTK, let us know.

Aww... I have a K2... don't know if they are similar or not... swapped the tube out, it made a big difference, btw.

kidvybes helped me, so I will relay my thread he responded to. I believe both the NTK and the K2 utilize the dual-triode 6922. I replaced mine with a NOS Telefunken from tubedepot.com, but I found out later that I overpaid - you can get good replacements for fairly cheap.
