Rode NTG2

Hey guys,

Basically im looking for a new microphone for recording foley sounds and all sorts of crashes, bangs and whallops.

I dont have much to spend as im a student, but i can get up to about £200 ($300ish) and someone suggested the Rode NTG2 is a great microphone to get.

Anyone use it? Good? Bad? Any other suggestions?

Sorry to *bump* this thread up.. but i could do with some suggestions on what to get..

Any good mics to record various sounds with?
