Rode NT5 too sensitive for close micing amp?

Hi Folks ~ I have the matched pair and have used them for vocals, drum overheads and acoustic instruments, but I've never used them on a cranked guitar amp. I'd like to place one about 2" from the grill, but don't have a SPL meter.
I think they can handle up to 128 decibels, which is pretty loud, but I want to make sure.

Anyone have any experience?

I've recorded guitar amps from about 6" with them and had no problems, never right up against the grill though.

I didn't like the sound on electrics, but that's not really your question
