Hi all,

I own both of these mics. I've been using the 4033 to record my vocals, but I have a deep voice - so the recording comes out with too much bass sometimes. The NT3 doesn't seem to have this problem as much, so I was wondering if you guys think I should switch to the NT3 for vocals - or is my problem more a matter of adjusting the EQ? Thanks!!

I would say go with what sounds best.

You could possibly decrease the bass response by either stepping back a little from the mic to decrease the proximity effect, or addressing it somewhat off-axis, maybe 20 to 40 degrees, to take advantage of the decreased low frequency off axis response.

Don't forget the 4033 has a high-pass filter (bass rolloff) It's really effective.

I love my 4033, I use it for vocals all the time and I agree use
the hi pass filter if Bass is a problem with your vocals!
