Ive seen some pretty mixed reviews of these mics but my question is ,to all you mic experts out there, what would you consider to be a great price on a pair of these mics in good used condition?

I would use these mostly as OH, HH and maybe acoustic.

If I were you I would be looking for a used pair of Oktava MK-012's

No need to get rowdy in the ranks - There are plenty to go around. :D

Ok, well, let it be known that I want two round ones, a big flat one, and a packet of gravel!

I'm still new at this, so don't take this as expert opinion. But I have a pair of NT5's. I got them on sale from Humbucker Music for $280/pair, when they were shrinking their microphone stock.

These little mics have worked out very nicely for me. No, they aren't multi-pattern ready - they are cardioid only. But they do an excellent job as overheads and on acoustic guitar, which is what I use them for. Very clear and focused high-end, for the money.

I believe the NT5 capsules are switchable just like the MK012.
They may not sell them in a set like Oktava though; I'm not sure.
