Hey all,

Im going to be treating the walls of my old jamming room to make it a tracking room. Im getting in some rigid rockwool pannells, but im wondering when putting them onto the wall (MDF), should i leave a space of say an inch or 2, between the wall and the pannel?

And once once its up. Would covering the pannells with a materal effect the quaity of the absorbtion?

Thanks

the space will help you drop the absorbtion a little lower, but it depends on how big your room is. What dimentions are you working with?

any acousticly transparent covering will be fine. As a test, get some fabric, and hold it up to your mouth. If you can easity breath thru it, it should be fine as a covering. The looser the weave the better.
