i recorded all those songs there with a stero double tie clip mic from radio shack for 30 bucks. We did each part track by track. 2 distorted guitar tracks, sometimes more.

just need some input on it, i'll take anything

i just ordered newmics and got a 4track for mixing (mostly drum set). So once i get a recording of a song with this new stuff, i'd like to compare them, to see the difference.

Thanks.

Why, that's "Foolish Games" by Jewel! :D

I downloaded "I Came In". Although I'm not generally too big on emo, I thought the song was fairly catchy. As grating as it is, I really like the screamed vocals that are panned hard left and right at the chorus. It's different. I dig it.

Maybe put a little more time into the vocals? I know that's sort of how punk works, but they are fairly out of tune.

The sound is surprisingly good for being recorded with such a cheap mic.

Do you have a bass player? If you do, I can't hear him at all.

Oh, and I really like the addition of the keyboard.

I think it's altogether pretty good. I bookmarked your page, and I plan to download the rest of your songs in the future.

nice

thanks for your input, that's definately the sort of stuff i was looking for.

and be sure i'll post up some of my new stuff so you guys can compare with me, that would help a ton as well.

thanks again...and anyone else - please also add input! haha

I listened too, I'm pretty much into emo-ish punk stuff. Eurythmic pretty much covered all the things I heard...I'd definitely spend more time on the vocals. The bass is too quiet. Overall the recording quality isn't the greatest, but it's a really good song, and thats more important.

You probably know this, but it's really clipping.

Your sound, (at least on this song) reminds me of a band called Finch, from ca...they are on drive thru records. Kind of an emo punk thing with hard backup vocals. You should check them out. (i think they're on mp3.com)

nice

thanks for your input - and i checked out that band finch too.

yeah - the whole cd we put out was with a mic from radioshack, and not much experiance with recording/mixing/and esp. mastering as you can tell.

since then, i've been recording with real mics (what i could get with my few $$, haha), and i've read up a ton about recorings, mixing, acoustics, and especially the needed compression (although i'm not positive if i've got this down yet).

again - i'll be putting up one of our newer song up here hopefully sometime in the next few weeks to compare. it'll be a screamo song...hopefully you'll like it.
