Roberts 771-x Tape Machine

Does anyone happen to know how to convert a Roberts 771-x tape machine to just use it for its pre amps. Or happen to know how to find some manuals or something. I have two of these machines and saw where this can be done, just dont quite know how to go about it. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I believe the Roberts 771-X (Akai M9) has solid state preamps. If memory serves the Roberts 770-X (Akai M8) was the last full recorder with "tube" preamps.

I've seen articles for converting the 770-X tube preamps, but not the solid state 771-X.
