Last week I accidently left this thing plugged in from Moday night to Friday evening. I've used it twice since then with no probs, but I'm wondering if there's any potential for damage when this sort of thing happens.

This is what I get for working into the wee hours of the morning when I should be in bed :o

Dude my RNC has never been unplugged, in the 1.5 years Ive had it. Come to think about most of my gear hasnt.

No as long as its well ventilated you can leave it on for practically years

No, it's totally screwed up now!

But...

I'll give you $50 for it right now-CASH! (heh heh)

Chris

P.S. "Wee hours" meaning a full moon?

One guy said that most electronic devices fail within the first 72 hours so when you buy something plug it in, turn it o, and leave it for 3 days...if it's not toast, you probably have a good one.

The act of turning it on itself will wear more on it that using it for weeks straight.

I'm so relieved, thank you gentle men.

$50 Chessparaov???? Hmmm, lemme think about it................................................................................................................................................................................................................uh, no :D

It was worth a try.

Not that I'd try it, but I've seen stories about how sometimes
dynamic microphones sound better after they've been "pulsed"
by accidently running phantom power through them.

Perhaps a studio urban legend....

Well I'll be. That explains why my old SM77 now sounds better than a U87.

I was under the impression that dynamic mics are not affected by phantom power.

They're not... and while flashing a generator is kinda mandatory... flashing a dynamic mic is a waste of time and energy.

If you have a mic cable long enough, I don't see why not.
