Rme Vs. Motu

Question: To anyone out there on a Mac, which would you buy if you were willing to spend about $900-$1000, an RME multiface+pci rig or the new MOTU 2408 MKIII? I really don't want to spend quite this much but I also want to be able to have the best possible sound quality (A/D/A conversion) I can get at home, so I am willing to consider these. I actually was considering the Delta 1010, but have read some really negative things about it too. At this point I'm considering all the possibilities. Thanks for any help you can give.
 
Im assuming that your recording software is compatible to the 2 you mentioned. If so, is a hard choice but I understand that the RME is an excellent interface if your willing to fork out the dough for it. Some recording software manufactures like logic for example will have a webpage for proof of performance and compatibility issues for hardware. I would do some research on it.
 
if ur looking for the best sound quality RME is def the way to or u can even try the LynxTwo soundcard. THis is supposedly the best sound card interface for A/D/A
 
I have both MOTU 2408 MKII and MOTU 324 PCI and also two RME 9652's and three RME ADI DS's

sound quality wise 1 or two tracks you will not notice much difference, but 24 tracks you can EASILY pick the RME is better

I use PC, dont know how motu is for mac, but RME's software and drivers are ready to go in the pro world, no need to switch clocks left and right , sourcing, sample rates, none of that garbage...The motu software is fine for one thing, but you go do something else and you gotta slaughter 13 chickens, dance on your head, ridiculous
 
I havent heard the MK3, but unless it is worlds different than MK2, and a lot cheaper, its hard to beat the multiface...I have a lot of trouble using the MOTU driver software for regular tasks so Im a bit biased
