LOGIC ABUSER
I haven't done enough research yet so Im just throwing this out there....
Im looking at an upgrade to RME Hammerfall products.
The website is somewhat confusing because of all the products they have, but I was looking at the Multiface unit because it has analog ins-outs...where most of there gear is ADAT and such, which I dont use.
Here is a link to the multiface...

Im assuming you need the PCI interface as well...I dont think it comes with it.

Does anyone know about this setup ??
And is there a site in the US where you can order ??

I know RME is top notch gear{and expensive}, but I look forward to getting it to complement my Logic 5.5

{nevermind where to buy..I found several links} looks like $850-900 for the bundle...

I just got an RME Multiface.

If you are going with a desk top computer you want the PCI card.

I bought mine from Bayview and was able to talk him down a bit from his net price and not get the cascade mic.

I have seen them advertised on Ebay as well.

I can't really give a thorough review because; I haven't had much time to work with it and I'm still learning, I stepped way up and it wouldn't be fair to compare it with what I had before ... and last but not least, I don't consider myself a pro recorder.

What I have done so far has been great as far as I am concerned.

Good luck and stay in touch if you get one.

Hey WB, the cheapest I found is $845 for the combo. I did see the one at Bayview and Im not interested in the mic either. Where you able to get it cheaper than 845 ?
It will be a couple months before I save the dough, so if you remember this post, let me know how its doing for ya.
What software are you using with this unit ?

I have had a multiface for a few months. Big difference. have been working with some older projects that used my old stock soundcard and the new audio recorded with the RME stands out so much more. Like blankets were taken off. New projects with the MF only audio sound much much clearer.

I have been using laptops mostly, though I have the pci card too. Very stable. Have recorded up to 5-6 analog at a time (haven't tried more), ADAT, MIDI. The mixer is very powerful, though to me a bit confusing at times. Latency is great, even with MME drivers on a laptop. Very well built.

I bought mine from Bayview as well. Great site. I opted for the cascade mics. I got 2 b/c I bought both cards. They are great values, and sound great on vocals, acoustic guitars, room mics. I didn't have any LD condensers so I gave them a shot, and it wasn't much more than buying it from other sites. BTW, they are rebranded SE Electronics mics, which have gotten some very good reviews, particularly on bang for buck.

ST..."cheaper than 845 ?" no.

ST..."What software are you using with this unit ?" Samplitude
