Are'nt the Multiface and 9632 basically the same thing if you get the AI4S-192 board for the 9632? http://www.rme-audio.de/english/hdsp/hdsp9632.htm & wouldn't those 4 stereo TRS jacks give you 8 Ins? So a total of 10 Analog IN.?. The Multiface would be more neatly packaged w/ the breakout box... but the 9632 is more expandable for the future. & are the converters a little better on the 9632 or the same? They both have 1 MIDI, 1ADAT, WC, SPdiF, headphone.

After a few months I think I'm finaly understanding the RME stuff. ;) The Multiface made sense but the rest... sheeesh! Anyway I've been wanting to ugrade my Interface (converters) from my existing Aardvark 24/96...I now have 4 Analog IO but want to get 8 Ai and be able to expand to 16 Ai in the future... debating between the Tascam FW-1884, RME Multiface, and the Lynx TWO for 2 months. I also Plan on getting 4 high end Pres (API, OSA, Sebatron ect..) and 2-4 mid level (Sytek,RNP,DMP3)

The Lynx has the best sound, but offers the least. http://www.lynxstudio.com/lynxtwo.html I could get by w/ only 6in 2 out but I'd need to get a mixer of some sort to run Monitors and a headphone out. I'd also have to get a MIDI unit. I rarely use MIDI but I do have a Roland Drum kit and a Keyboard that I use from time to time. Pay more get less. I feel that in my less than Pro Home Studio I probably wouldn't notice the diff in these 3 converters and my $$$ should be put into nice Pres.

The Tascam is what I'd really like to get... it has it all and a Controller. Looks Sweet! http://www.tascam.com/product_info.php?pid=269&nav=computer_recording but... I'm unsure about the quality of converters... & It's new so no track record.

RME makes the most sense to me... for obvious reasons. So if I went w/ RME... which one Multiface or 9632?

Whatcha think? I'm still up in the air and would like to get it together in the next week or two.
Thanks,
B.
