Is it ok to use 1/4" stereo (ring tip sleeve) cables as mono cables or is that a bad idea? I have a ton of them but I need patch cables and don't want to buy more.

It'll probably work since the mono jack will only touch the T and S.

I depends entirely on the gear you're using it on....

I would only use it on mono type inputs not inputs that have any insert capabilty. Basically I want to use it to patch effects to a patch bay. Just wondering if it would weaken a signal or something to that effect. Hate to patch them in there then have to tear it all apart or get a bug and not know whats causing it.

Thanks for the feedback :)

It'll either work or not work. Are you putting them in permanently?

They do work but there was one point were I thought they were screwing something up but it's hard to tell when you've got a million connections, what's doing what sometimes. I guess I'll just have to try them out a little more and see what happens.

Are you sure about that? That's quite a stand you're taking :D

(just kidding, I get what you're saying...)
