alright, i'm new here, and i'm not sure if i'm allowed to do this..but i'll see what happens.

I like metal (thats not all Cannibal Corpse, cuz they just spam notes and sound like they throw up all the time) more like Children of Bodom.
Like melodic, and technically written songs.

I write technically too, just not well. I'm better at throwing riffs together and calling it a song. Well i wrote 12 songs, two i kept and threw out the rest. I'm currently making a 5 song EP right now. ANYWAYS..I'm writing a song thats more rock-ish than metal. it starts off with some weird intro noise from the guitar (no pedals, just divebombs and stuff). Heres the only riff i have:
(All on the low E & A string) 0 = not muted. o = palm muted.

A-----------------------5\7------------------------1\3
E-0-o-o-7-8-5\3--o-o-o-3\5--0-o-o-7-8-5\3--o-o-o-3\1

so..the whole point of this thread is: since i usually just write instrumentals cuz my voice sucks, i decided to explore and write rhythm too. the thing is that i can't really think of a metal/rock-ish rhythm power chord progression, or a good riff that fits the one i just showed you. but i want to make a pretty good song that people want to dance/headbang to.

btw sorry for my over-use of slashes (/ & \) and paranthesis..

I'm not notation friendly. Sheet music makes me barf more than hideous music, which I can live with.
So, what are you a guitarist? So, play it, record it, and send it up on this 'ere website. Then, we have chaps who would just love any opportunity to record with you.
So, put up your chops, hopefully you will have realised you need an audio interface for your computer to outdo the shit soundcard that is built in-to motherboards, and you will then hey presto have some clear chops to go with. That way, we can hear yah, and before long chaps will be asking you to download your stuff onto something like box.net so that they can add to it with their own daw like Cubase or Reaper or some Mac thing like Sonar or other thing.
So, get that interface audio thing and record like crazy (or just record with audacity) then post your chops.
We love listening, you see. We are all a bit weird when it comes to music - we just love it in all its forms.
Even Hari Krishna chanting gets a good vote.

PS: What chyah mean 'not allowed.' Not allowed to do what, post on a public website?

Don't listen to nzausrec, he doesn't even know what continues verse into chorus.
