I have been a fan of Seals & Crofts music from the very first moment I listened to their music. It was also my good fortune to have seen them perform in concert during the height of their popularity in the early 1970’s.
Riding Thumb is just one of their compositions that I have always had a fondness for. Their version was recorded at a much faster tempo with Jim Seals on guitar, Dash Crofts on mandolin, and the guitar of Louie Shelton.
I opted to record a cover version with one 12 string guitar, bass, and a few vocal tracks.
I would greatly appreciate opinions regarding the vocal mixing, because I consider it a weak point that I seem to be continually struggling with, mostly because my voice…..sucks!
