That Norwegian Bastard
I just tried a Sontronic Sigma Ribbon mic at my work here the other day and it was great.
I song some wispering vox into it and compared it with other mics, including Electro harmonix ribbon.
The Sigma beat all the mics hands down. its the first ribbon I`ve tried.
The tune I wispered was Lap of the gods by queen, and its the first time I ever felt like it sounded simular and great.
Its hard capturing the nerve when I record whisper vox, usually they sound very sibilant.
Ok enough blabber, anybody know if they used a lot of Ribbons on Vox in the 70`s Particulary Freddie Mercury, and David Byron
I think I might have captured the sound I was looking for, but I`m just curious on what mikes they used.
