I have 2 Nady ribbons now. I liked the first one so much for female vocals that I bought another to try them on drums. I am very satisfied with the results. They have taught my cymbals how to act polite.

I'm also using it now on male vocals and can't wait to try miking amps with them.
I now have 2 preamps. A Groove tubes Brick and a Studio Projects VTB-1, both provide more than enough gain and both are quiet. The Brick adds a very professional quality to the sound but the VMP-1 is also cool because of the output control which enables you to get some tube overdrive. It certainly doesn't have the sound quality of the Brick, but it is quiet and for under $100. I'm not complaining and use it a lot.
I should also mention that these ribbon mikes are much quieter than my MXL V67, which I also like, but it's a whole different sound pattern than the Nady. It's not that the condenser is noisy, it's just that it picks up more extrainious sound, whereas the ribbons are a fig 8 and they don't pickup as much background sound, so if you don't have a real good room, that may be another reason to try a ribbon...
If you can't tell, I'm a newbe, so some of the more experienced guys may want to edit my observations and that's o.k. with me, cause I'm trying to learn here too and would like to thank all the pros for giving up their time for us wanna be's
