Ribbon Condition

I just got my two Apex 205's in, and immediately proceeded to remove the inner wind guards. In doing this, I found one of the mics to have a severely loose ribbon. The other looked very good. I tensioned the ribbon, but due to it's extreme looseness, it had developed some distortions in it's shape. It's not currently touching the magnets, but it is a little wavy side to side, and one of the corrugations is kinda wierd. A real disappointment, to say the least...

Will this mildly distorted ribbon cause the mic to suck? I was hoping to use the two of these in a Blumlein pair, and I would guess that requires a pretty similarly responding mic? Am I screwed now, looking at completely re-ribboning this mic?

Thanks in advance for any encouragement or reality checks...
