Reworked an old tune - Walk With Me

I like it! Nice job on the mix, everything sounds really clean and well seperated. Very nice playing. I don't really have any crits on the mix or otherwise, well done! Thanks for sharing. :)
 
A nice mix David. The snare sounds good for the song.
Your voice is well captured - you've retained the slightly grainy aspects of your sound whiclt being pretty clear otherwise.
Nice acoustic solo to.
The bass has some very nice definition.
Sounds like a bought one!

wats the diference betwen clinic and dj? where shud i post my tracks on both places? confused cuz i was chekin round to get familar with the place and found another place u cud post ur tracks ate here. get at me.

but to leave some feed this sounds nice. you got a voice my dude keep thisup.
 
Yep -sounds nice all around. I like the meter/beat/tempo - nice medium groove. Good songwriting too - tells a familiar story!

Thanks Ray!! Glad you liked it. I'm really happy with the bass sounds I've been getting. I'm basically just using a UAD 1176 plug and small cut around 100hz.

Yeah, ya know I forgot all about harmonies. I was using the original vocal track which had a few small flubs. So I retracked vocals last night. I'll work on harmonies for sure. Interested in helping out?

Hey Ruffcut, The MP3 Clinic is where we can post our mixes and get comments on the mix, production, arrangement, performance, songwriting or whatevers... Most everybody posts their clips here, we try to disuade people from posting in other forums with the tunes. However, the DJ/HipHop and Analog forums are kind of sub communities and active members like to post their clips/.tracks there. I think it's okay if you want to post in either the MP3 Clinic or DJ/HipHop. In the DJ forum, you'll get more pointed feedback from fellow rappers, etc. But in the MP3 clinic, you'll get more people to listen and more chance for comments.

Love the guitar sounds. really rich and full.
Vocal is really good too
Kick seems to disapear in the mix a little bit and the bass is a little bit underpowered (could use a litle more variety than the "dum da dum" on the root note throughout, to add some interest) IMO
But really great song

Vocals are perfect.Guitars very good too, nice acoustic tone,,....
And every time I listen you doing something "country oriented" like this I know you will kicks ass.And you did it again.

Mix lacks bass a bit of bottom end on bass drum for my taste.Probably the 100 hz you cut in the bass guitar too - not so sure - as it depends of bass drum balance

This sounds great Chili :).

I love the brightness and clarity but could use a little more low end (kick + lower bass frequencies). Rhythm guitars sound really nice.

Other than the afore-mentioned low end, I love the bass guitar sound on this. Probably one of your better mixes to my ears. :)

The only thing i can even say is i would try to bring out the vocals a little bit more in the begining of the song.

This is a great great mix, maybe I'll be able to make something up that sounds this nice sometime

I did this one 2 years ago with a borrowed bass. It was before I bought mine and didn't have much practice playing one. Now that you mentioned, I should go back and redo it and have some fun!!! I love playing bass.

muito obrigado!!! Did I say that right?? I'll look at the low end and probaby bump it up a little. I compared with a commercial release when mixing and the bass and kick on that song was about the same level. I thought it was low also.

+1 for issues with kick / bass getting buried at points during the song, but that being said the performance (especially vocals) were well done. If it were me, I would be more adventurous with the melody (or harmonies, as someone else already mentioned), but otherwise it was very pleasant.

clear, polished, well mixed, great performance...all check, maybe a touch more bass overall, or at least the kick

Seems awfully bright to me. I'd like the whole mix to be a little "warmer". The vox and guitars are sizzly, while the kick and bass vanish in spots. Nice little song though.
 
I agree with Greg. Things are a bit bright.

Performance & song wise, this is really very good. I like the nostalgia to it. I'm a sucker for nostalgic songs. Has kind of a Bob Segar/Mellancamp thing going on. Nice.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment. I see a trend here with the no low-end sentiment. LOL. And I'll probably work on harmonies this weekend.

Thanks Greg. I'm working on some fixes and will put up another version tonight. Small adjustments, trying not to go too far the other way.

Good song, Dave. I like the overall feel to it, agree with the Seger comparison. I would also like to hear more bottom end, but I can appreciate where this one could go.

Great minds think alike - at least where the title is concerned.;)

Not sure if you've heard my tune of the same name.

I'll post it in the clinic and you can give it a whirl.
