Can anyone recommend a good, reasonably cheap (around $100, no more than $200) reverb unit? I am not as aurally anal as most of the other people on here, so it doesn't need to sound pristine, but I am looking for something I can use on all instruments and vocals. I don't need a huge variety of sounds, but a few options would be nice. And something that's fairly easy to find would be good, like on ebay or new. Thanks.

aurally anal? Yuck

Is a software plugin an option? Are you using a computer, or do you need external hardware

I would really prefer external hardware, but if you have a suggestion for software, shoot it on over. I'm a little wary of the whole computer thing (see my pathetic newbie posts on these matters) but I'm willing to take suggestions. But the portability of an external piece would be great.

dang ... for an old guy, he's pretty fast!
I had to log in before I could post and that old dude beat me to it. :)

I was gonna recommend the Wedge too ... for SURE it's under $100 used (it'll have to be used, though ... out of production). Nice little unit though ... editing is a snap.

MPX100 is a good budget reverb too. Ease of use is the selling point there, not editing features.

Try the Nanoverb (99 bucks)

Pirateking, I have the Alesis Nanoverb. I'm sure there are people here who will want to flame me because it is not the highest tech piece of equipment around, but it is digital and it is clean. I love mine and it is very versatile. Verbs, chorus, delay, etc. Just one humble frustrated musician's opinion, but you might check it out.

Peace, Silver

yeah

I got the navoverb too, its so damn small, and i knew nothing when i bought it, but actually, its ok for the price/size.

Hey old guy… let me know the next time you find a MPX1 for 100-200 bucks… I’ll pay double that for it!

The MPX100 is your best bet new. The Behringer and the Midiverb (4) are better alternatives than the Nano, even though the Behringer is slightly noisy. Look in the classifieds for a used Yamaha SPX90. There are lots of them floating around. If you really luck out, you could find one for 200 bucks.
