Hi,
I am real new to this. I have a 414 and have it working but I havn't got a clue how to add effects (reverb) to my vocals. I understand how to add effects using pedals to my guitar tracks. Do I have to add reverb (vocals) through a pedal (like chorus or delay)? O do I need an external mixer to send the signal to before I mix down? Thanks for any suggestions in advance. It sure is fun and every minute I use it I learn more and more.

There are two (mono) Effects Sends on the back of the machine to feed signal to an effects device and two Stereo Line Level Inputs to feed the signal back into the Stereo Buss. For adding reverb during mixdown you should use this loop (FX Send to FX Unit, FX Unit Left-Right Outs to Stereo Line Input). If you wanted to add reverb to a track as it's being recorded you'll need to use one of the four main channels and use the routing switch and pan control to buss the signal to whichever track you're recording to.

Well said, Ter. The "fun" part makes you use it more. The "more" part makes you better and better. The "better" part makes it more fun. An addictive cycle has been set in motion...

reply to Mark 7 re reverb

Thanks for your help...one additional question(s)..what kind of effects unit do I need for voice reverb?..thanks again

Any Digital or Analogue Reverb unit will suffice :)

What have you got?

Hi again .....I have some guitar pedals (chorus, overdrive and flange)...I thought I could add some effects once I plugged into my computer but I don't think you can edit separate tracks by then..so what do I need or what do you reccommend in terms of Digital or Analogue Reverb units to use with my tascam?...and this is a hobby for me so I guess I am looking for the inexpensive way to go (if you heard me sing you too would say keep your day job :)

I don't know...can I get something on ebay for $100...used is fine with me..

Some of the Alesis reverbs can be had new under $100. Same with some of the Behringer models.
