Well, at the moment, I have a Lexicon MPX200 that has never worked properly. It needs to be repaired becuase I bought it in Mannys music store in Manhattan. It never worked. Unfortunately, I could not get back for over thrity days and they refused to replace it. Since it worked a little I kept it. Actually, it is useless. i will send it in for repair but i hold out no great hope of ever seeing it again particularly in working condition. By the way, I intend to advise Lexicon of this. Anyway, it is time for a better reverb so here are some of my thoughts and, I hope you will share yours. I could, as it were, purchase one of the real Lexicons for roughly 2k. That is a tempting thought. Then again there are plug-ins. I have been considering the Alti-verb. This seems to be getting good marks in the press. Frankly, the Sony digital seems to be the thing but a bit to pricey. So, what do you all reccomend. By the way, I have Digital Performer 3.1 which has some pretty good reverbs built right into it with extensive controll features. And, by the way, I have 512 mb of RAM in a 733 mghz G4. So, given my position and the fact that 2k is not out of the budget, what would you do? (I don't have to spend that much and would consider not doing it partcularly if dollar for dollar I am ot getting that great a return [pardon the pun]).

1st off, you shouldn't have given up trying to return the 200 to Manny's! If you didn't know, Manny's & Sammy's are one & the same. Since Manny's is under the ownership of Sammy's, they must adhere to the same return policy of Sammy's (which is 60 days for brand new gear and 30 for used). In addition, when the return date has expired (especially on used gear) and you can provide proof and cause that said equipment is inoperable at time of purchase along with a simple explanation as to the reason you could not return said gear prior to exchange/return date,85-97% of the time ,Manny's/Sammy's will accept ret/exchange. Speak to Shaheed (the brutha' with the long dreds) or Carlos @Sammy's(2nd flr,LIVE/REC'ing equipment).
I have been thru your situation several times and have ALWAYS been able to return defective equipment. E me if you can't resolve your prob and I'll try to help you providing you haven't overly exceeded the warranty period.

As far as the MPX200 is concerned, it's a decent dsp, however parameter adjustments for each effect is limited. A better choice for a few bucks more w/b the MPX 500 of which effect parameters can be adjusted within increments of .1 . Just my opinion!

Peace
