Reverb problems ... need some specific advice please ..

Can anyone please make some recommendations on reverb processors that have eq built in so that I can cut high frequencies so that "sss" sounds don't get accentuated with reverb added ? I know the behringer virtualizer had that but its reverb sound was not too good. At the same time I don't wanna spend more. What are my options for a truly budged reverb unit that does this ? Also, someone had suggested I just patch in a parametric eq between the reverb unit and the recorder ... Would that work ? Again, what are my options ? Thanks for your time ..

of course patching an eq between the verb and the recorder would work...
if you think about it...there's not really anyway it couldnt, unless you didnt plug the cables in right, or um, maybe you didnt turn one of the units on...

The Kurzweil "Rumor" is a great reverb where you can trim down the 'high frequency damping' so it doesn't 'splatter' too badly... they run like $5-600ish... it's big brother, the KSP-8 has a whole slew of way, way, way cool EQ and filter options in addition to a greater number of variables within each program. The way I have my KSP-8 set up it's like having 4x "Rumor" boxes... but if you really wanna push it you could get something that is pretty close to 8 "Rumor"s from the KSP-8... the KSP-8 runs a bit over $3k w/the remote [and I seriously recommend the remote unless you have knees and patience of steel!!]

Or simply not using the returns for the reverb, but some of the standard input channels.

Look for a used Roland SRV-2000. Good sounding reverb with a pretty flexible eq section. Usually go for $100 - $150 used.

Just 2 more questions: (1) When was the SRV-2000 released and how much did it cost retail ? (2) I've also heard of the DEP-5, which is supposed to be a very close relative to the SRV-2000 and have the same reverb quality and may even go cheaper on eBay. Any thoughts on the DEP-5 ? Thanks

Yes. SRV-2000 it's a good reverb unit. I've got one of these. Paid about 150$. I use it on everything.
