Hey Guys,

I am getting a reverb effect when stretching a clip. But no effect when shortening a clip. Any suggestions?

The stretching algorithms implemented in Sonar are very poor. Prosonic Time Factory is the best for this purpose.

I concur with Bamboo. Because Sonar mentions "acid" format, alot of people think it's the same. I don't think it is. I find the stretch in Sonar to be inferior to Acid. I think Acid does a great job. I find I can legthen a loop by about 20 bpms and have it still sound great. Personally I use Acid to time my loops. This works since I decide on the song tempo early on in my process and I don't really deviate much from that.

Has Acid improved their processing in the last couple of years? I have an older verison of Acid, changed tempos as I remember always sounded like they had chorus applied. Maybe I should download a new demo and try again.

OOPS, now I remember, the chorus effect came from changing the PITCH

Major Tom,

I usually don't change tempo or pitch in Acid but I just tried it in Pro 3 and I thought it worked like a charm. I pitched up a section by a major 5th and increased the tempo my 10 bpm. Then brought it back down to D at 120 bpm. No artifacts.

I like how acid handles non drum loops. Their Orchestra loops are fantastic. There is no problem changing their tempo or pitch and this says alot since there is no drum beat to set things by. That's why musician/producers like BT use Acid for it's loop timing.

William, what bit depth and sampling rate are you using ??
