J to the R O C
hey Ray I think ya had a look at this U2 cover and asked me to tone down the verb. Did as requested, but I still cant sing! I even tampered with Antares auto-tune (fun, but it didnt help!)

Well Paul I wasted about ten minutes trying to get the Purevolume player to work and I gave up. I even rebooted my PC thinking it was the problem but it still wouldn't play.

It would be great if you could post this on a more reliable site.....Soundclick.com or Lightningmp3.com - sorry I can't review this unless it plays....

Paul your voice has a nice sound to it. Yes you do have some pitch probs on occasion but you can train yourself to improve that.
The guitar sounds nicer now - not annoying at all.
There are some essing issues but this is much, much improved.
Nice calm sensitive & confessional feel to it with complementary accompaniment.

Hey man I'm sorry you wasted your time, Purevolume is pretty unreliable. I was going to use soundclick but they're strict about covers, which is alot of what I do. I'll give lightningmp3 a shot. thanks for that.

Hi,
there are quite a few free VST dessers available if you don't have one in your comp. If you want a quick link have a look in the cakewalk forum for my thread about wrappers & VSTs. One of the links at top or bottom of the thread should have something useful.

hey Ray C, found the page, but I cant find a de-esser...any idea of what its called?

I had the same problem. I clicked on the song, but it just sat there. Nothing happened.

Paul - re-reading my post, it sounds a bit harsh - sorry about that. Just frustrated I guess.... :p I forgot all about Soundclick and cover tunes as well....not my favorite policy but rules is rules...

Anyway, I tried again this morning and it played ok. I'm not familiar with the original but your version sounds really good. The instruments are nicely mixed and the leads have a nice smattering of verb to make them come to life. A few trouble spots with the vocals but as RayC said you have a very good voice. A bit of practice is all it takes. Glad I was able to get this to work - nicely done....

:) :D :) :D
