Hello.. been a while since Ive been to HomeRecording. Had a fire at my apartment that destroyed the whole building. No one was hurt, thankfully, but everything I own has been destroyed. =*( Well, its been about 5 months since then, and finally got my feet back on the ground, and Im ready to get back into making music. I just need to start from scratch with buying equipment. right now, all I have is an older computer that was given to me. So, im going to be buying a guitar next week (ibanez rg120). Now, since funds are low at this time, I was thinking I can kill 2 birds w/ one stone, and buy the line 6 toneport UX2, that can double as my audio interface AND amp, since I used a Line6 spider IV amp before the fire, and I absolutely loved it. I just want to know if there are any MAJOR upgrades I need to do to my computer.. Since using an interface should eliminate any latency, right? Ive never really recorded with anything but multi-trackers, but have read up alot on recording on a computer. Within the next 2 weeks or so, Im going to be buying some monitors. Nothing special, probably the same Samson monitors I had before..I apologize in advance if I was all over the place with this post. If anyone can please give me any advice about the cheapest, easiest way for me to get back into recording on the recorder, it would be MORE than appreciated. Thanks
