I have a yamaha keyboard with built-in floppy, which I record to and save in standard midi format. Now, this is my problem, and please bare with me for I am new with all this. I would like to burn these midi songs onto cd and somehow retain the great sound quality of my keyboard instruments. I have transferred them into my music software, but when played back on computer the various instrument sounds are just so-so. I transferred them into a wav file and burned onto a cd, but instrument sounds were just not good. I have a newer dell, which came with a turtle beach santa cruz sound card. Any advice would be appreciated.

you'll have to play back the songs in your keyboard and use your keyboard's analog out, running the cable into the sound card of your computer and recording it as a wave file on your computer.

or, you could just look at using some of the better software wavetables out there.
