Right, so the reason I got a new amp was because my old one was 'blown' as in really dirty but still played and no real clean channel. if I replace the fuses will that restore the little bugger back to full use?

if the fuses are blown the amp will not work if the amp works that means the fuses are not blown i eould suspect if you are getting distortion with the gain at a moderate level chances are that the speaker coneor voice coil is dammaged chances aer if the amp has been played with the gain dimed the speaker cone needs to be replaced.

I'd say your amp is due a visit to a service shop for a check up. It could be a number of things, a good tech should check it and let you know what needs to be done and how much it will cost for any repairs. Always hope it's something minor and cheap but expect it to be something major and expensive to fix.

well it's a 'throw away' fender frontman 15R so I don't think i'd be able to spend anything over 10 bucks on the piece of shit.

find a speaker and slap it in. anything is probably better than what you've got at the moment.

you can get a webber replacement speaker for 25 bucks from MF
that little amp is a pretty decent little amp worth fixing IMO
you are not going to find a better new 15 watt ssamp for 99 bucks

unless you were ready to upgrade to a new amp anyway.
