I'm wondering if the tonal issues im having are due to power tubes needing replaced? Basically, the high gain sounds from this amp (supposidly a good high gain amp) are flabby, lack low end definition especially with palm muted stuff. The amps an Ashdown Fallen Angel 60w combo, all tube. I'm looking at replacement amp options, but i cant believe the sound im getting from it atm is the one that im supposed to be getting.

How old are the tubes? The symptoms you describe are typical of weak tubes.

I've had the amp less than a year, but it was secondhand so the truth is ive no idea how old they are. I should mention i've already replaced the preamp tubes though
