Repairing my mic

Hello:

I have an old Oktava mic that stopped working a while ago. I'm thinking I blew out one of the electronic components when misusing it (not correctly using phantom power switch or something like that).

Anyways, I'm wondering what is the best way to try and fix it. Do I just get a multimeter and test conductivity or resistance on every resistor. What is my best course of action?

First off, what type of mic is it?
Make and model, please.

Testing components in situe won't work. They'd need to be removed - (not recommending that).
If you tell us the type of mic though, someone might be able to post expected voltages at certain points in the circuit.
You could test those and report back.
 
oktava mk-319. i bought it from guitar center in 98 i believe.

Is it completely dead with no output? If that is the case I would look for a simple broken wire, probably at the output.

If it makes sound but is weak or noisy then there are many faults. I would be looking first at the FET and making sure it is biased correctly. If that sounds complicated then consider sending it to a tech!
