Hi all,
I just got a JBL LSR25P powered monitor back from repair. It sounds OK but the High freq driver dome, which is about an inch in diameter arrived all dented and pushed in. It wasn't like that when I sent it to them. The speaker seems to be working now and I'm getting high end. Is the dome itself where the high end sound is generated? Is the shape of that dome what radiates the highs? If so, I would think the altered shape would have some effect. Or is that dome just a protection with no other function?
Just wondering how serious this is.

Thanks for any help

It's just a dustcover - nothing more.... but if you didn't give it the to repair place in that condition, then you shouldn't get it back in that condition. It may be too late now, since you've already taken it home and apparently not mentioned it to them when you picked it up, but if were me, they'd be getting a huge blast and be forced to replace that driver, cosmetic or not....

Too many electronic repair shops need to understand, cosmetics are important. Most home recordists ae constantly upgrading gear and cosmetic imperfections affect the resale value. Don't let them get away with cheapening your gear!
