Renting Mics

For starters, try local music stores and sound reinforcement companies.

Oh, I was going to suggest John Reynolds or Derringers, but I'm in South Australia ;)

Seriously most local music stores that sell the gear should often hire the mics out as well. I hired a whole set of mics to do my drum kit once, only cost me $65 Australian for 7 mics and stands.

Full Compass has some for rent, though not a huge inventory. I've never used them for rental as of yet, but they advertise that they'll ship them to you.

Interesting. I didn't know that.

Cyrax, Houston is a pretty huge metro area, right? There have got to be tons of music stores and sound companies around. Check with anyone who says audio rentals. Even some big studios do it.

Try Evans Music City on Westheimer. I rented a PA & some 58s from them once. I don't know if they have studio mics as rentals, though.
