i just made a new track using a midi-file i played on my keyboard. For the sound i use a bass plug-in. Problem is that after rendering this track, the beginning of the track is louder. Odd, 'cause there's no data in the midifile (i checked) that changes that. So what might be the problem and how can i solv it.

I've tried some mild compression and some overall gain, but this doesn't work that great.

any tips most welcome as i'm just starting out...

What program are you using? You could go into the midi data and manually edit the velocities of the notes. It sounds like you just played the notes a little loud in one part.

Yup velocity. Or possibly even Expression Data (Which depending on the synth recieving it, may act as real expression or as additional volume).

i'm using ACID pro 4 for this dance track. all velocity-levels are equal (set at 64). It's only one measure of 8 beats. So i copied it and tried to bounce it and thats where the problem is. Really strange...

thanks already for your replies

Maybe controller #7? Sounds like you already checked your MIDI performance info though.
