Removing the noise from the instrumental?

Hello.
I am a newbie, and a total menthol when it comes to music editing. I do not know anything about it. I am very ashamed for asking this:

I was wondering if somebody can help me with a particular song: Is it possible to remove the lyrics from it, and get only instrumental? Here is the song:

gamefront.com/files/20729759/SONG.mp3

If this is not possible, forgive me for my ignorance. In that case I have found the instrumental version, but it`s not that good. It needs some editing, and removing some noise parts. Can somebody "clear it up" a little bit:

I would be very grateful if anyone can help me with this.

Thank you.

Generally not possible to remove a vocal from a stereo track, and have a good result, although there's software that will try.

You could download Audacity for free and try to remove the noise from the instrumental version yourself, I don't have anything better for the task..

If you have a 31 band graphic equaliser you could home in on the vocal frequencies and cut them as much as possible. It's a bodge but I have heard karaoke and film tracks done that way.

Thank you for the reply.
Both of you.

@Capriccio, I did not understand a thing you said to me. I do not know anything about the music editing :(
How much do I have to pay you for this in order to do it?

@Artemice: I already downloaded the wavosaur.com free audio editor and got the same result like in the posted INSTRUMENTAL.MP3 link file.

Aha, I see. In which case you won't have one.

Find a friend who has a (home) studio or perhaps someone on the forum who has a graphic EQ and some time might give it a try.

Here st_george, take a look at this. It's all free software and fairly simple to use Audacity. Not sure how good the results will be but worth a shot. :D

I hear what you mean about the instrumental version. It just sounds like a low-q conversion or something.

Honestly, the easiest/best solution is to simply re record this song. It's not especially complicated.

I could create a new recording of the whole thing for you, but it wouldn't be a favour.

I'm not 100% about the forum and copyright ethics of doing this; Can anyone help?

I really doubt that it's going to be possible to get the vocals out of that.

Well, you could send it to Cedar, and have them do it, and they probably could, but they charge by the second of audio. Not going to be worth it!

Thank you for all advices and help. Thanks jimmies69.

@Steenamaro:
What would you do? Play it on your own piano and then record it?

yeah, i'd record new piano and string parts.

I would use the original as a tempo map, so all the timing is perfect.

BTW, the instrumental that you've posted IS the original, but it has been processed to remove the lyrics.

It has worked quite well cos its such a spare mix, but listen carefully, you can tell.
There's a 'ghost' of the singer more or less the whole way through.

Notice the pizz at 1:40 have been removed too?

It seems you are right Steenamaroo. Its not an instrumental, but an original with vocal`s removed.

What is "pizz"?

And I guess there is more than piano playing. Some violin or similar can be heard in the background?

yeah, there is piano and there are strings.

I can recreate these.

Pizz (pizzicato) is the plucked strings. Think eleanor rigby.

They have been removed along with the vocal.

Ok cool,
I'll send you a little sample too so you have a proper idea.

Won't be long ;)

No need for the sample. I believe you can do it.
The price is what is important to me.

It's def illegal to do that, especially if you are planning on selling it to our friend the OP here.

Hypothetically, it would be very hard for anyone to ever find out if anyone else had ever illegally taken their music of course.

Food for thought ;)

And we are all going to act nice, and ignore that Steenamaroo, will send me a private message :)))))))

Aaahhh fuck it.

OP. song is at

You're welcome to use it as you wish.

If this is in anyway in breech of copyright, then it's made clear here that I didn't charge for this, and I don't know the song title or artist name.

I guess that makes it no better or worse than covers in the clinic.
