Finally got around to remixing one of my band's songs on my computer.. if you could let me know what you think that'd be great.

Hmmm.... that may be re-mixed but it's hardly been "mastered"..... while the original was all over the map with levels, in this version you compressed the crap out of it!
On top of that -- it needs some re-tracking to fix some glaring timing issues before worrying about re-mixing!
How was this "mastered", BTW? It's certainly not by a mastering house, for sure.....
Go back to the original, fix the timing issues - re-mix it paying careful attention to the track levels and that all the tracks "fit" together properly.... if you get the mixing right, in all likelyhood you won't need to even think about "mastering" it!

And while your at it...You might try some EQ on the bass drum and snare if they are on sepearte tracks. They sound a bit on the boomy side to me. It sounds like they could use a lot more highs in general. They just sound very muffled. Also the "mastered" recording sounds very distant. The guitars actually sounded pretty good in the first version. Very old-mettlica-ish to me. Whatever you did to the "mastered version" un-do it. Fix the drums in the first version and you'll have a something a lot better than what you would have had with the "mastered" version.

Ok, here's another go at it..
Unfortunately retracking isn't really an option, as I'm about a 36 hour drive from the rest of my band right now.. This was my first recording.. and really rushed.. as my plane was leaving for Toronto.
Anyways, I'm definitely a beginner at the whole recording thing, not to mention mixing.
I said "Mastering" in quotes, because I know it wasn't really mastering according to some people here, but I was using Ozone, which is a mastering tool..
Drums were recorded with: 2 SM57s for overheads, using tubedudes method, 1 SM57 on snare (but I really screwed this up.. sounds like another overhead somehow.. picked up the whole set again..), and I'm not sure what the kick mic was.. wide diaphragm, didn't see a name on it. These went directly into a Korg D1600 that we rented.
Bass was DI.
Guitar doubled using a 57 on the amp.
Vocals (on other songs) recorded with an SM58.
Spent a grand total of $250 (Cd) on this recording.
I definitely brought the overall level up on this mix, brought the drums out more..
Any more input is welcome.. I'm learning a hell of a lot from this.

It's an improvement over the original and better than your previous attempt - but it still sounds mucho squashed to me!
