Hi all,,,

Im beginning to remix a track and the only problem is that I have never done this before : )
I have SoundForge5 and a few other quality programs. Can anyone offer any advice on the process of remixing a track from start to finish, or offer any links to good articles.
It's a basic pop track with vocals and decent house beat so I think just putting a nice 4x4 underneath and a good arrangement would do the trick. But the most important thing to me with all music is quality so I dont wanna hack this upp at all.........so please any adive would surely be a blessing....

Merci~

it's not that things are not making sense, at the moment I have the track cut up and arranged into the regions and order that im gonna want in the final mix. I know with only the original radio edit track to work with my work is more difficult but the song does not that much of a workover, Just some basic fundemental things that make a dance track more grooved out,
like hark kick drum and deep bass rythem, hatsNcymbols, sweeping synth's, and some added electronic effexx.

I'll take them one by one.......

a good kick and bass drum - I have rebirth which may work for this and also plan to sample a bass line from vinyl

hatsNcymbols - maybe rebirth, but I dont like the cymbol sounds in it has to offer very much at all

sweeping synth's - I have no idea, i dont have any gear so i'll probably find the best demo of a software synth and make the best out of it

Effexx - can be applied bu the synth software or by sound forge even or maybe cooledit

Then i somehow have to put them all together in a multitrack environment and sync them up, i guess thats my biggest fear, the sinc issue. The song has a natural 4.35 beats per measure when i look at the Special>EditTempo in SoundForge5 at 120 BPM.
I couldn't get it to fit into 4 beats per measure........
My worry is getting the DrumSection(bass, kick, hats, snares) to line up with the original track........i suppose i'll just tackle this problem when I have the drum track pieced together.......

I know there are very time efficient ways to accomplish my goal and this is what Im after.......right now im using my software as the caveman would have if given the tools.........peice by peice with perplexing proportions...........

Pondering Prehistory en Provence.........

Peace~

Acid 3.0 should help your dilema.

Here's a demo of the program.
