Mr. Lawson...Niether...if you're like me you just like to watch the reel go round-and-round.
I was putting one of the reel motors and table assemblies back together from my Ampex 440. More details over in My 440-8 Story thread later, but I had just glued the new table cork on the table and was using the reel to press and hold the cork on. I spun the reel and then started daydreaming about looking forward to seeing the Ampex operational...I like how the ampex precision reel looks with the 440-8 clamper...it goes round-and-round really nice.
Ethan, I hate to be the one to break it to you but your head is not moving and it is actually the room spinning. Sorry.

Its a little known fact that John Lennon's song was written to say reel going round and round instead of wheel. I wonder if anybody is making titanium reels yet? Its bound to happen sooner or later.
