in order to use your keyboard as a controller you gotta have a midi interface or a soundcard capable. then in options you click midi and wutever your keyboard is plugged into you select that hardware from the list and it should work for you. (you shouldn't bring any project up while doing this cuz it won't recognize it so if you already have one up just reload the project and it will work) I have the tascam us-122 midi interface and you can get that for about 149.99 brand new and prolly cheaper than that on e-bay. i like it cuz it has a good asio driver built into it so i plug my speakers into that and select the device as my audio output in the audio options on fl

You really don't need a midi interface per se. You can use a basic USB midi cable to do the trick as well. You can get one under $50. I use the Turtle Beach USB midi cable whenever I use midi. But other than that just like DE said, just select whatever your controller is and your good to go.

I have one of those!! : ) I still need help settin it up Ment

ok, first install the drivers for the usb midi cable... it should have came with a CD if not and it's the turtle beach one go download the drivers from their website.

second hook up the in midi cable to the OUT port of the casio, and hook up the out to the IN. (pretty much backwards)

third reboot if you have to. then select the "usb device" or something similar to be your midi device in FL.

That should have you all hooked up.

Thanxx Ment!! Mine didnt come wit a disc. Hit da casio site?

whoever makes your usb midi cable's website. actually you might not even need the drivers, but if there are any get them... it makes things more stable.

the only reason i went wit the interface wus cuz i liked tha fact that i was gettin the asio drivers and xlr mic inputs wit phantom power u really can't go wrong for 149.00 u know?

yeah, for that price that's pretty good. gives you pretty much everything you need for now. for those who don't want to do any vocals etc... I always reccomend just a basic usb midi. But with vocals involved... we're talking a totally different setup.
