I'm getting ready to buy either a Mesa Recto or Peavey 5150 4x12 cabinet. The Recto seems to really demand a premium price.

Can anyone contrast or have experience with both. This will be for studio use with really heavy guitars.

Thanks...

I have the triple rectifier. I just got it 2 weeks ago. I don't think Ill ever buy another make.

cool...

I have a 5150-II head that I record with through either a 4x12 cab loaded with Greenbacks or another cab loaded with a single Vintage 30. I'm looking to suppliment these with additional tones.

thanks...

I play through a 5150 (not II) and a matching 4x12 cab. I love that sound that it makes, though it has a little too much noise for me. One of my friends has a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier and with his particular setup, it sounds phenomenal. The price difference can make or break an issue like that though, so my recommendation is go with the Peavey......just cuz that's what I play. :D

thanks Dr Hoss...

I purchased a RECTO 2x12 and I also purchased enough Vintage 30's to load my 4x12 swapping from Greenbacks I need be. Now I have a few more options.
