It's an interesting concept... it's essentially a self-study course that's augmented with regular consultations with local recording professionals.
for myself, I've signed-on to being a mentor/instructor for the Ottawa area...
The way it works is they (RecordingConnection.com) provides all the detailed course material which they work through. The students also get periodic instruction from mentoring studios in their area to go over their assignments and provide additional detail on a regular basis (weekly or bi-weekly.)
