Recording with Zoom H4n Pro and Cjossul (contact microphone) but sound is only on one side!

Hey there,

I want to do recordings with this contact microphone (https://organicaudio.it/cjossul_knowledge_base). The thing is, if I connect it to my Zoom H4n Pro in the Input 1 or 2 via XLR or TRS I only hear it on one side. If I connect it with Input 1 I hear the sound only on the left side and with Input 2 only on the right side.

Now my question; Is there a possibility to hear it on both sides as in this video:

Of course I can later process the recording in my DAW and put it to the mid but I'm wondering if there's a way to hear it in the mid when I'm recording? Maybe there's a setting in Zoom Recorder I'm not aware of.

I hope you can help me here! Thanks a lot and have a wonderful day!

Simplest solution is a splitter to 2 XLRs. Some versions of Samplitude allow you to mono a single input. Called "Mono Mix" but I don't know of any other DAW that does it. Reaper might?

Dave.

Hello Dave, thanks a lot for your answer!
So a splitter like this should work?

You don't need a splitter cable - go in to the menu - turn 1/2 link on and then turn Mono mix on - both channels will record then at the same time.
