Ok, I just got a brand new P4 2.66 ghz computer, I also own an Akai MPC2000XL, an Alesis QS6.2 synth, a midiman midisport 2x2, an M-Audio USB Pre-Amp, and a Shure 57 mic... Any suggestions for recording?? What all would you suggest I purchase for the best quality?

Get a decent condensor mic. The B1 is a very versatile mic available for around $80. If you are planning on recording whole bands, you'll also need to get more than two ins and outs for your computer. The Delta 1010 LT seems like a good value to me.

What do you plan on recording, exactly?
