Recording with EWS 88 MT

Hi there.

I just bought a Terratec EWS 88 MT sound system, and want to start off recording. There is one problem though.

Whatever I plug into any of my inputs, can be recorded.. but I don't hear the direct sound signal through monitor out! The recorded tracks can be played afterwards, and can be heard even through the monitor out. But I want to hear the incoming signal WHILE recording as well!

What is wrong? Does the monitor output support direct sound? How else could I plug a headphones set into my system, and play along with previously recorded tracks?
 
What recording software are you using. Usually you need to assign any tracks you want to hear to an output. Some cards allow to monitor directly from the card and the settings for that are usually in the driver control panel.
 
Well I tried so far with cool edit pro 1.2a and 2.0

I still have to install samplitude.

But why don't I hear direct sound through windows itself?

What if I simply want to jam along with win media player playing mp3's???
 
YOU GUYS ARE NOT REALLY BEING HELPFUL!!

So, nobody uses this card or what????
