yes
My computer is upstairs in my room, however i want to record the drums in the living room because it has such a nice echo to it, and put room mics around the room. if i got a 100' snake to go from my room to downstairs, would that be bad for recording clarity because of signal loss? i know you aren;t supposed to have long runs, so i assume the answer is going to be yes. i just don't want to bring my computer downstairs.

Most low impedance, balanced output mics can be run for 1,000 feet without any serious signal degradation.

Just use a decent quality snake and make sure to use only balanced runs and youll be fine

what kind of snake?

i'ld watch out for sibilance!

Yeah, I've recorded with a snake... he was assigned as the producer to one of my earlier record deals by a now-defunct major label.
