Hey guys,
I currently own an audio interface with only 1 mic output, which means i can only connect 1 microphone at a time. if I wish to record two sources, (Guitar and vocals for example), is it possible to get a...splitter of some sort and connect to my mic preamp?
Just to clarify, I wish to use two microphones to record. 1 microphone to record guitar, and 1 microphone to record vocals. I wish to do it all live / at the same time, and I want to have two seperate audio tracks. 1 with guitar and 1 with the vocals.

I run with a lexicon Alpha connected to a mic preamp currently.
I was looking at something like this:
THE T.RACKS TDI4 - Dansk International Cyberstore - Would this work, or is this something completely different?
Thanks :)

The lexicon Alpha has 2 TRS line inputs, so you could use 2 dynamic mics. Or one condensor plugged into the mic preamp (assume it has phantom power) to the XLR and one dynamic into one of the TRS inputs. You don't need the T-racks thing - not sure it has phantom power, either.

If you need phantom power and want to use 2 condensor mics, best bet is to upgrade to an interface that provides it in at least 2 separate channels. The more devices you put in the signal chain, the more noise and signal degradation.

To get two separate signals onto two separate tracks you need an interface or whatnot that has at least two separate inputs and two separate outputs.

Thanks for the replies,
ill save up for a new audio interface :D
