Well.....I have been doing some searching looking through threads and such. I have found some great useful tips.
I am working with a great singer, he sings fairly soft. We are more of an acoustic driven band. For comparison purposes .....aka Jack Johnson ....Cat Stevens, Tom Petty.
I record flat. I am getting a good signal. I am using a SM58. Sonar 3.
I am having a problem with getting those subtle nuances in melodies being defined. They are there.... but not prominent. I'd like to find a solution to this without having to add anything beforehand. Suggestions?
Also any suggestions/directions to a good use of compression on vocal tutorial would be greatly appreciated.
Oh yeah.....he's a "P-Popper". I put one of those foam screens on the mic for a couple of the songs.
It works. Yet.....I am sure it kills the tone.
Thanks, Donny
